Athenaeum Pro Issue from Reserve Bug

Under certain circumstances (described below) if you issue a book from a reserve list, the due date of the book might be before the issue date.

The Problem

We have confirmed a report that due dates may not calculate correctly for books issued from reserve lists. In the example confirmed, the due date was a date at the end of the previous year.

The bug consists of a particular internal value not being updated at the correct time.

Work Around

After starting Athenaeum Pro, simply issue at least one book in the normal manner, before issuing from reserve lists.

When it happens

This problem manifests it self under the following circumstances:

  1. You are a guest on a network with Athenaeum Pro hosted by FileMaker Server
  2. You have not issued any books.
  3. The first issue action you take is to issue a book by clicking on the reserver's name in the reserve list of a book.

What about books already issued with incorrect dates?

The administrator can go directly to the circulation and amend the due dates manually. If there are a large number of books, then the replace function (see note 9) can be used to adjust the dates in one step. Replace can set all items of a found set to a single value (say "24/3/2001") or to a calculated value such as the issue date plus 2 weeks (circ_issueDate + 14).

Permanent fix

A permanent fix is included Athenaeum Pro 4.5.3.
